It is widely reported that NASA costs a lot of money. I heard it reported that the budget of the USA could run for only about 4 days from the savings of eliminating NASA completely from the budget. I have no idea how much money NASA pays to private contractors to build and prepare the rockets it uses; but if I or you dig enough surely we might find something to get an idea about it. Besides, shutting down NASA programs means that it’ll cancel many science programs.

After all, prior to NASA’s creating in the late s the Army was already developing medium-range rockets Redstone missile. This is really a tough question. I like space exploration a lot.
