Mildly related Is anybody here affiliated with The Custoom Resource? What’s the deal with all the custom object hoarding? I’m not affiliated with them but I think it’s because the TSR Creagors is the only tool that has the ability so far to make custom objects. Which isn’t really hoarding considering it’s their tool on their website. The problem is not with them creating the tool, or really keeping the information to them self. As I read on other forums the main problem is that they profit off of this tool for a game that they did not create. Most other modders have shared their information and tools for others to use and are not profiting from it. App makers profit off their mods, even though they did not create the OS, or the physical system, or the compiler they use to write code, or the modeling program they use for their graphics. Usually there is specific permission from the original creator; Apple, Microsoft, Google. Creating custom content could be illegal, due to modifying game files, but we’ve been given permission; although no one said the content could be sold.

But EA, it’s time for you to pay attention to what these cc creators are doing in the sims community, it has gotten way out of hand at this point and it’s ridiculous! These cc creators out here are using your property and charging the fan base for money when they know plum well that they shouldn’t be. These people have seriously gotten extremely entitled and greedy when it comes to making cc, adfly is still a problem but these people like to play ignorant and act like its no big deal when people are telling them it’s giving their computers viruses. These people do not care about our privacy and livelihood possible being ruined due to hackers cause they’re too selfish to see it, they’re only worried about lining their pockets. Now we have a bigger issue, and that’s with cc creators going to patreon to make people pay even more.
The sims is a HOBBY , NOT their part time job and no one is twisting their arm to make cc but for whatever reason these people think they need to be paid. These people need to do what everyone else has to do when money is short, and that is get another job instead asking us. There are cc creators who make cc, have families, go to school, have jobs etc and still don’t feel the need to E-beg their followers cause they are doing it for the love and fun of sims.

Reason why CC creators tumblrs were being removed because of it or people who made conversion of CAS items from cas to be basegame for others to download or just the people stealing meshs and from Second Life where creators actually DO have the right to make money off of them. Same for the ones shoving their content behind adfly with no other option to download though adskipper and what not are your friend. Newsea being one example. Making a whopping 12 grand a month! Not to mention those mods tend to help get games popular. As well as creators textures of other CC creators work and putting adfly on it.
