Bad movies try very hard to appeal to as many people as possible and fill their stories with so much story and plot that it overshadows any acting or performances and often the films become incomprehensible due to content overlord. But they do work in drawing in a large enough audience to make a profit.

Again they are exceptions to both situations, but that is usually the norm when it comes to films. In the end there is no real clear answer there are many more factors then just those, countless actually, but I would suggest to keep this in mind at. It’s certain people who hang in certain circles.
